Discuss the importance of a gender-responsive, human rights-based approach to climate action and renewable energy, and the economic, social, and environmental co-benefits. Using the Case Study of Cambodia (Module 1, Lesson 3) Note: Cambodia in Southeast Asia is especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and disasters, even though it accounts for ~0.03% of global GHG emissions. Some impacts already being experienced are increased severity of flooding and drought events. On the other hand, the capacity to adapt to these changes is still quite low. In a country where 80% of the population lives in rural areas, the majority of them women, who depend on agriculture for their livelihoods, climate change is a big concern.
The Government of Cambodia has made concrete steps towards addressing gender equality in climate action and disaster risk reduction through gender integration in its national policies and programmes.unccelearn.org/mod/scorm/player.php?a=708¤torg=articulate_rise&scoid=2489&sesskey=wAlte1P0fs&display=popup&mode=normal The deadline for discussion submission is the 11th of May 2024 23:59 GMT Please reply to this post with your key points and views.
